We are working on a comprehensive database of bird data and images. Eventually, you will be able to search for a bird by providing physical properties of the bird, such as color and size, it's habitat, and what area you saw the bird. For now, you can do more limited searches, based on location and how common the bird is in that location. We are starting with Santa Clara County, California. The next locality we plan to add is Santa Cruz County, California.
