Common Name: Clark's Grebe

Description: Medium sized black and white water bird with a long, swanlike neck and a long, orange-yelllow bill. Black on top of head, back of neck, and body; white on front of neck and underside. Very similar to the Western Grebe; the black cap on Clark's Grebe's face stops above the eyes, while on the Western Grebe, the black extends to just below the eyes. Usually seen on water; dives for food.
